A fifth teen was arrested and charged in a December homicide in Syracuse.

James Smith Jr., 33, was shot inside his Merriman Avenue home in the early morning last month.

Police said a group of young men, ages 15-to-19 forcibly entered the home around 1:00 a.m, and shot Smith in the hip during a confrontation. Smith died shortly after he was taken to the hospital.

Thursday, police arrested 19-year-old Cameron Webster.

Earlier this month, police arrested 19-year old Quinton Gathings, 17-year old Tyrone Byrd, 16-year-old Francis Mercado, and a 15-year old who is not being identified because of his age.

All of the suspects were charged with second degree murder and first degree burglary.
