SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse district fire chief who was injured in a crash Monday is now out of the hospital.

Police responded to the scene at North Geddes Street and West Belden Avenue around 1 p.m.

They say the chief was responding to the scene of a fire when his vehicle was hit by a van at the intersection.

That van then collided with a tractor-trailer.

The chief and the driver of the van sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.

All three vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
