ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester residents now have more options to get away from the cold this winter.

Southwest Airlines is offering non-stop flights to Fort Myers, Florida on select Saturdays: February 17th, 24th, and March 3rd.

On all three days, flights depart at 11:55 a.m. from Rochester, and at 8:30 a.m. from Fort Myers back to Rochester.

Monroe County officials say the new flight options are a trial to determine the demand in the area.

"So many people in Rochester head to Florida during the winter months and our newly expanded partnership with Southwest will bring those opportunities for people here to get in and out of Rochester more conveniently and more economically as well," said Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo (R).

The flights are available for booking now on Southwest's website.
