Last week's deadly crash involving a pedestrian in Cicero is prompting some changes along Route 11. The town is now planning to use federal grant money to install sidewalks and crosswalks from Bear Road to Caughdenoy Road.

It was that stretch of road where 20-year-old Devon Coleman was hit and killed leaving work at McDonald's.

Construction is slated to begin next June. In addition to the crosswalks, pedestrian crossing lights will be put in at every intersection.

In the meantime, officials are hoping to add additional lighting to make it safer for pedestrians and easier for drivers to see. Law enforcement will also crack down on speeders.
