CICERO, N.Y. -- Authorities say a man was killed, after being hit by a truck in Cicero.

A portion of Route 11 was closed Wednesday morning, as police investigate the truck-pedestrian crash.

The incident happened around 4:20 a.m.

Officials say the man was trying to cross Route 11 when he was hit. He was transported to a Syracuse hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The debris in the center of Route 11 was where police appeared to focus their investigation.

Cicero Police, North Syracuse Police and the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department were all called to the area.

They blocked off Route 11 from Hogan Drive to East Circle Drive for a few hours after the crash.

At least one ambulance was called in.
