With just two days left until Thanksgiving, shoppers are making last minute trips to their local supermarket.

And there's good news this year: According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, the average cost for a Thanksgiving dinner is down for the second year in a row.

According to their report, turkey, milk and sweet potatoes saw the largest decreases. Some items like pumpkin pie mix, stuffing and fresh cranberries did go up slightly.

Still, one local resident doesn't care what studies say. She says no matter what she needs to be on a budget. She says tips such as buying generic brands and staying away from pre-packaged foods will help save money.
