The principal of Beaver River High School is being put on leave while he is being investigated by the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

According to a release from the school district, Joshua Stamp is being investigated for a complaint made against him. The district says the complaint made against Stamp does not involve a student within the district. It does not specify what the complaint is. But the statement goes on to note that the allegations are "very serious in nature."

Superintendent Todd Green says he will not make any public comments regarding the investigation, but that the district is cooperating with law enforcement.

Stamp is currently on leave while the investigation is ongoing and the district will arrange for an interim principal to take his place. The sheriff's office has not yet returned Spectrum News' request for comment.
