CHARLOTTE -- The latest enrollment numbers show Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools added fewer students than anticipated this year.

CMS projected it would add 700 students, but the district ended up adding just about 200.

Schools affected by the new student assignment plan, like Dilworth Elementary School, saw a decline in enrollment.

Dilworth is set to be combined with Sedgefield Elementary School next school year.

Dilworth has 60 fewer students which is an 8 percent decline in enrollment compared to last year. Sedgefield saw a 13 percent decline.

Other schools that are being paired also saw some decrease.

Billingsville, Cotswold, Morehead Stem and Nathaniel Alexander all had enrollments decline by anywhere from 1 to 4 percent.

CMS says some other schools saw an increase in enrollment.
