Utica Police say a man is dead following a motorcycle crash on the North-South Arterial on Tuesday night.

Police say the motorcycle was traveling south on the Arterial when the crash occurred around 10 p.m., and it's not believed that any other vehicles were involved -- though the incident is still under investigation.

At some point, Utica Police Department confirms that the motorcycle did catch on fire.

The motorcyclist, a Utica man in his 30s, has not yet been identified, pending family notification.

The south lane in the area of the French Road ramp was closed for 10 1/2 hours total.
