WHITESBORO, N.Y. -- The Whitesboro High School band played alongside some special guests Tuesday.

After a patriotic performance Monday night at the Stanley Theatre, a handful of members from "The President's Own" United States Marine Band visited local high schools to pass on some wisdom.

"The fact that they're just incredible musicians and they play for the President of the United States is just awesome in and of itself, but any time students can hear, or anybody can hear, live music and work with it, it's just so important," said Nicole Williams, Whitesboro High School's band director.

Williams said she hopes this experience will inspire her young musicians to pursue music beyond high school.
