Little Falls will be in the spotlight later this month as Main Street is turned into a film set. Despite needing to be closed for a few days, many business owners say they're thrilled the city is getting this kind of attention. Melissa Krull shares some of the excitement in the city.

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. -- The Little Falls Mayor has been working to put the city on the map for filmmakers.

"I attended a seminar about how to attract film and the motion picture industry to your area," said Little Falls Mayor Mark Blask.

Not long after, a location scout visited Little Falls, and then a group including people from Paramount and John Krasinski. Krasinski has starred in several films and is known by many for playing "Jim Halpert" on "The Office."

Krasinski will be back in Little Falls in late October directing and acting in a film called, "A Quiet Place." His wife, actress Emily Blunt will also have a role.

The mayor said they'll be primarily filming on Main Street, and it will be closed for two days. Signs and other things may also be changed when it's time to film; however, many business owners said they've been reassured.

"Paramount has said that they will work with local businesses and try to come up with a plan that is sort of equitable for the businesses to make sure that nobody is really harmed by the making of the movie," said Eric Lewis, the owner of Copper Moose.

"We're guaranteed that after everything is done, everything will be put back the way it was. Just hoping they keep their word on that. We'll see," said Sharon Dunphy, of Ruggerio's Trattoria.

Many business owners and workers agreed that this is a positive move for the city, and hope that more production companies come.

"We're absolutely looking into getting more films and television shows here," Blask said. "That's why it's important for us to do this right."

"It's a small town so we don't have much so it would be good to bring a little bit here," said A'Ja Harrington, a bartender at the Renaissance.

There will be new routes for drivers to take during the road closures.

The movie is expected to be released next April.
