Oswego police are waiting on an autopsy to determine whether to press further charges in a woman's death.

Police say 55-year-old Deirdre Rogers was found unconscious inside her home back on September 30.

They determined that she had been assaulted, and ultimately arrested Jason Golas, charging him in the case.

Rogers spent a week in the hospital, before dying from her injuries on Friday.

Police say they still have Golas in custody, but are working with the district attorney’s office to make sure the appropriate charges are filed in the case.

Right now, he has only been charged with second-degree assault.

It's unclear if Rogers knew Golas, or what prompted the alleged attack.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Oswego City Police Department at 315-342-8120.
