This weekend will be all about good friends, family, and of course, food in Downtown Syracuse.  The 20th annual "Festa Italiana" will take place near City Hall from Friday through Sunday. Brad Vivacqua has details on the weekend ahead.              

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- When it comes to delicious pastries, appetizers, and desserts -- it doesn't get much better than Festa Italiana.

Starting Friday you can find that food along with various events and entertainment right here at the intersection of East Washington and Montgomery Street.

This three day festival will includes today's new Charity Meatball Eating Contest, a Bocce tournament, and Italian Bingo.

Close to 30 bands and other groups are set to perform on both a main and small stage throughout the weekend.

You can visit a Heritage Tent and learn more about the Italian culture and the kids will love the Children's Tent with all kinds of activities. 

People can find savory food selections that are truly unique from 17 vendors across the region. 

Organizers say more than 300 volunteers will once again help make this event a fun time for all. 

It all gets started at 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday and at noon on Sunday after an Open Air Mass at 11 a.m.

Admission is free through the weekend.
