WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- One Watertown city councilor will not be able to seek re-election this November.

Current council member Stephen Jennings was eliminated Tuesday in the primary.

The non-partisan race allowed for any city voter to cast ballots for the two candidates.

Lisa Ruggiero won the race in her first time running for public office.

"I certainly wish all the candidates good luck, and obviously we will see what the final results will be. But it looks like we will be losing an incumbent, so it will be interesting to see how the dynamics change moving forward into November," said Ruggiero.

Incumbent Teresa Macaluso will be on the November ballots along with Cliff Olney and Ryan Henry-Wilkinson.
