UTICA, N.Y. -- Officials are still trying to iron out the details with the proposed downtown Utica hospital. Much of the focus recently is on parking.

One option is to build a new garage and also renovate the Kennedy Parking Garage. Oneida County legislators went into executive session Wednesday afternoon to discuss the county's involvement in either plan.

Project leaders previously said the city and county would handle the costs, and the garage or garages would be operated by the Mohawk Valley Health System.

"I think the County is willing to look at a number north of 50, possibly as high as 60 percent in terms of agreement on the parking garage," said Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente.

Leaders previously said the project could cost more than $30 million. Picente said now they need a commitment from the city on its share of the cost.
