Three North Country airports are getting a major security upgrade.

The TSA has installed the latest checkpoint screening technology equipment at Adirondack Regional, Massena International and Ogdensburg International airports.

The imaging technology requires travelers to step inside and raise their arms. It is then able to highlight the part of the body where any threatening item is found, projecting it onto a generic cookie-cutter image.

The TSA says the machines are completely safe and provide those airports with a necessary boost in security.
