SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A suspected Syracuse gang member has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison.

Rashaad Walker was found guilty in the 2015 fatal shooting of 25-year-old Tony "TJ" Guyton.

Walker shot and killed Guyton on South Clinton Street in broad daylight in November of 2015.

Walker was also found guilty in another shooting. His attorney plans to appeal.

At just 25 years old, Walker has a history with police. He was arrested for attempted murder in 2013, but was released on insufficient evidence.

His son, Rashaad Walker Jr., was also Syracuse's youngest homicide victim. He was shot and killed at just 20 months old in 2010 by a bullet that was meant for his father.
