SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Three people are in jail, charged with the sexual exploitation of children.

The suspects are 59-year-old Clif Seaway of Granby, 45-year-old Tammy LaMere of Fulton, and 46-year-old Tammy Martin of Carthage.

The three are accused of engaging in sexual acts with multiple minors, and capturing the acts on film. Beyond that, prosecutors couldn't go into many details, but they said the case isn't a typical one of this nature.

"This was not the type of investigation, which is sometimes the case, where information was gleaned over the Internet or that type of sting or anything like that," Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Southwick said. "It was human based information."

For prosecutors, this case is drawing parallels to the Amish abductions in August 2014. What started as a kidnapping case later turned into what prosecutors called one of the worst sexual exploitation cases they'd ever seen. In that case, Stephen Howells and Nicole Vaisey were ultimately sentenced to more than 800 years combined jail time.

The charges filed in this case so far carry a sentence of 15 to 30 years. But like the Amish case, depending on what the investigation reveals, the suspects could face significantly more time in jail than that.

"If there are later found to be many, many images here and if there was a conviction, the judge would have the option of making the sentence consecutive," Southwick said.

The suspects are each being held without bail and their cases will go to a grand jury, but no court dates are set.

Thursday night, TWC News visited what we believe to be the home of Clif Seaway and spoke with some neighbors. Nobody wished to go on camera, but people said they saw very little of Seaway and that he tended to keep to himself.
