When it comes to the state fair, there is no shortage of food options.

That was certainly the case as the fair's Food Truck Competition officially kicked off Saturday. The event puts food trucks from across the state head to head - serving up their best bites.

The trucks lined up around Chevy court with each one offering fairgoers a special sample for $3 each. After trying them - you can vote for your favorite.

One local resident says he was counting down the days until the competition and is ready to put his taste buds to work.

"I'm flying solo today,” said Liverpool resident Timothy Bricault. “I'm rocking this. I took out my alloted amount of cash to be able to come here and feed my belly and my soul with a lot of happy food."

The contest continues Sunday with a new line of trucks. There will be a total of 47 food trucks to try.
