If you're heading to the New York State Fair in the next couple of days, be prepared for blistering heat.

Temperatures Monday hit the mid- to high-80s and they'll climb higher Tuesday.

Misting stations are set up to provide some relief. You'll also find free water filling stations in most buildings.

"Please hydrate, hydrate through the course of the fair. You don't have to rush through the fair. Do a little bit of something if you're out in the heat, hydrate, sit and relax, enjoy some shade there are several cooling areas out in the fair. Then go out and enjoy it, just do it in small steps and you'll get everything done throughout the course of the day," said Stan Goettel, of Upstate Medical University.

Because of the hot weather, the State Fair is adding a third senior day. Anyone 60 and older will now be able to get in free this Thursday, when it is expected to be cooler, in addition to Monday and Tuesday.
