Syracuse police have made an arrest in connection to a mid-September shooting death.

Police announced Thursday that Amir Williams Jr., 25, was arrested a week ago in Cleveland, and was transported back to Syracuse on Wednesday. Williams is charged with second degree murder and second degree criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the death of 26-year-old Zyree McMullen on September 15.

Williams was located, police say, with the help of U.S. Marshals.

Police say McMullen was shot in the stomach just after 10 p.m. Sept. 14 on Davis Street. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information can call Syracuse police at 315-442-5222.
