A convicted rapist who led police on a three-day manhunt returned to Rome City Court Friday.

Ronald Cook is accused of cutting his ankle monitor and fleeing to Binghamton, where police eventually apprehended him. He faces charges of third-degree criminal mischief and intent to damage property.

On Friday, Cook waived his right to a felony exam for a second time. Court officials say Cook initially waived the felony exam last month, but changed his mind, until returning to court where the public defender waived it again.

Cook is scheduled to reappear on January 8.
