SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse police are investigating a shooting that occurred on the city's eastside late Saturday night.

Officers were called to the 400 block of South Beech Street around 10 p.m. after residents heard gunfire in the area.

Upon arrival, officers located a 41-year-old male who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body after being shot while sitting in a vehicle.

The victim was transported to an area hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The man is listed in serious, but stable condition.

There is no suspect information available at this time.
