The legal guardian of a three-month old baby is accused of badly hurting the infant, who is expected to survive injuries suffered last week.

Lillian Schultz, 34, faces charged which include reckless assault of a child and falsely reporting an incident.

On November 7, officers responded to a complaint and were met by Schultz, whose child had obvious injuries to their legs and bruises to the head. Once at the hospital, officers learned the baby had two broken ankles, a broken knee, internal head injuries and bruises across their body.

Police said Schultz initially said the baby was with another person when the injuries happened, but the subsequent investigation determined otherwise.

Schultz was taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center following the arrest.
