The man now charged in Syracuse's 15th homicide of 2017 was arrested Friday in the Binghamton area.

John White was found shot on the 800 block of Butternut Street shortly after midnight on October 8, and died a short time later. White was 22.

Police say White and Muhammad knew each other and were in a dispute before the shooting.

Hanza Muhammad, 26, is now charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Muhammad was located in the town of Dickinson, where Broome County Sheriff's deputies say Muhammad was found in a vehicle that investigators were looking for.

Muhammad was then taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center.
