Sears was once the largest retailer in the country.

Today, the company announced it was filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy and would be closing more stores, which includes both Sears and Kmart.

Some of those locations shutting down are upstate.

The retailer has been struggling for years.

And it's not the only big box store to fall in the Amazon era.
