Republican Congressman Richard Hanna is not seeking re-election. Three Republicans will compete in a primary next week for the right to be the party's standard bearer in the November general election.
Claudia Tenney ran unsuccessfully against Hanna in 2014 and is a member of the state Assembly. George Phillips ran twice for the 22nd District in 2010 before it was redistricted and has recently worked for the Jack Kemp Foundation. Steve Wells is a managing partner of Food and Vending Corporation, and is the regional finance chair of the State Republican Committee.
