New York is on track to end the AIDS epidemic in the state within two years, according to the governor's office. Cuomo set the end of 2020 as a target for reducing the prevalence of HIV for the first time since the virus was discovered.

New diagnoses of HIV in New York are down 20 percent since 2014. But activists have complained the state is not doing enough to help people who are already HIV positive.
