The Working Families Party is endorsing three state Senate candidates running in Democratic primaries against members of the Independent Democratic Conference. And with the announcement last week, the WFP made it clear that this is about getting the IDC out of power. The eight-member conference is currently in a power-sharing agreement that helps the Republicans retain control of the chamber. And the WFP argues that is blocking progressive legislation on things like fighting climate change and making housing more affordable. So the party is hoping Alessandra Biaggi in the Bronx, Jessica Ramos in Queens, and Rachel May in Central New York can change that. Joining us to talk more about the endorsements is party co-chair Karen Scharff.
