New York is ready for offshore wind. Last week, officials from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, or NYSERDA, sent a letter to the federal government, requesting that four areas be considered for wind turbines. The ultimate goal is to be able to provide power to more than one million homes by the year 2030. So now, the state waits to hear back from Washington.
