Derek Anderson is set to make his Bills debut on Sunday and the new Bills starting quarterback will have a familiar face with him when he takes the field — Kelvin Benjamin worked with him when they were with the Carolina Panthers.

"He's like an old mustang, right now. He just crunk back up," Benjamin said.

While Anderson's new to the Bills, he's not new at all to Benjamin, who started his career in Carolina with the veteran signal-caller, including Benjamin's first touchdown catch in his first NFL game.

"He's experienced. He can go and pick a defense a part," Benjamin said. "I think with his poise and he's been in so many situations and he can just go out and play ball. He just needs us to play fast and be where we're supposed to be for him. He's going to push you. Even if you drop a ball I always know he'll come right back to you on the next play. Tell you to forget about it and move on to the next play and he's coming back to you to make the tough catches for him."

Benjamin has 23 catches for 336 yards and two touchdowns courtesy of Anderson from their Panther days. That previous chemistry will be crucial as Anderson crams to learn the playbook and the rest of the guys he'll be throwing to, having a safety net already built in should benefit both parties.

"Definitely because every quarterback got a different timing, got a different step, a different drop-back," Bejnamin said. "Definitely that I'm somewhat familiar with his throws and with his balls. It definitely makes me more at ease."

Hopefully that helps Benjamin bust out as this team's true top target, rather than the guy with just ten catches through six games.

The Bills (2-3) and Colts (1-5) are scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m. Sunday in Indianapolis.
