ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Kelvin Benjamin, acquired from the Panthers in a trade Tuesday for a 3rd and 7th round pick in the 2018 Draft, bolsters the Bills' wide receiver corps at a time when playoff hopes among fans are boiling over. The Bills are 5-2, coming off two straight home wins, and face the New York Jets in New Jersey on Thursday.

Benjamin, just like Head Coach Sean McDermott and General Manager Brandon Beane before him, comes to Buffalo from Carolina. A tall and strong wideout, Benjamin has spent his entire four-year NFL career with the Panthers. This season, Benjamin led the Panthers in receiving yards, started all eight games, and has two touchdowns.

Week Two against the Bills, Benjamin had 8 catches for 77 yards in a 9-3 Carolina win.

The Jets have lost three straight, but like the Bills, remain more competitive than many people predicted. A win would equal Buffalo's best record at the halfway point since the Super Bowl years.
