BROADALBIN, N.Y. -- The surviving French mastiffs found emaciated in a Fulton County home back in April are all living in permanent homes now.

On Saturday, the dogs and their news families reunited for the first time in months. The 10 surviving dogs were discovered living in what state police called ‘deplorable conditions’ in a home in Stratford back in April.

The Brennan Humane Society put the dogs up for adoption after the previous owner, Bentley Valdez, forfeited possession. The dogs' new owners say they've have made a lot of progress over the last few months.

“I’ve spent a lot of time with him every day and got him acclimated with other dogs and animals, people; he’s come a long way,” said Lonnie Honsinger, a Guilderland resident.

“It’s really hard to kind of talk about the way they were," said Lorrie Venneman, a Gloversville resident. "But they’re all happy and they all have good homes now.”

As for Valdez, the criminal case is still ongoing.
