NORTH ADAMS, N.Y. -- Police in North Adams have arrested a man for allegedly stabbing a pizza delivery driver Friday night.

Authorities say Travis Perras was trying to rob Charles Sauer on Union Street in North Adams when Perras stabbed Sauer multiple times.

Sauer was transported to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield in critical condition — but has since seen his condition improve.

Police say Perras was found at a home not far from the crime scene and taken into custody.

He's been charged with armed assault with intent to murder, armed robbery while masked and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Perras is now being held at the Berkshire County House of Corrections on $75,000 cash bail.
