Troy Saunders was convicted Wednesday of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Wayne Best Jr. at his home on Parkwood Avenue in Schenectady during an attempted robbery in 2014.

Saunders had recently been convicted of selling cocaine when the shooting happened.

He had previously spent time in prison for manslaughter.

Two other defendants are also facing charges in the case.

Saunders will be sentenced in April.
