New York State's all-time leading high school basketball scorer will announce his college choice Sunday night.

Joe Girard III of Glens Falls High School will make his decision public in a 7 p.m. press conference Sunday at the Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls. The announcement is open to the public.

Girard had previously narrowed his choice down to six schools: Syracuse, Boston College, Duke, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Penn State. The Nittany Lions are also interested in Girard for football. Girard made his first official visit to Syracuse in June.

In the spring, Girard was named the USA Today New York State Player of the Year after averaging 50 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the 2017-18 season. In addition, he set the state's all-time scoring record, previously held by current Los Angeles Laker Lance Stephenson.
