Former Shenendehowa track and field star Jill Shippee is getting ready for a trip of a lifetime. Shippee is off to Finland on for the World Junior Championships. Shippee will be a Sophomore at UNC next year and she had quite the freshman campaign. She set a new Tar Heels record in the hammer throw. She came in 2nd a few weeks ago in the national junior competition qualifying for team USA. Shippee got a workout in on Thursday at UAlbany, she says it might rain next week at the worlds in Finland so she didn't mind throwing through the storms. In terms of expectations, Shippee has set some goals, but it's more about representing Team USA and enjoying the experience.
