Siena College has named Jamion Christian as its next head men's basketball coach.
Christian comes to the Saints after six seasons with Mount Saint Mary's University (Md).; in that time, he brought the Mountaineers to the NCAA Tournament twice. He was the Northeastern Conference Coach of the year for the 2016-2017 season.
Christian is the 17th head coach in Siena Saints program history. He was formally introduced Wednesday afternoon.
"Our style of play is going to be real simple," Christian said in his introductory press conference. "Everything's going to be player-centric. ... [each player] has a dream to play in the NCAA Tournament and to play meaningful games. We have an obligation as a coaching staff ... to do everything we can to help them fulfill that dream, and we're gonna get to work on that right away."
The announcement comes less than three weeks after it was announced Jimmy Patsos and the Saints would be parting ways amid an investigation into the program.
