AUSTIN, Texas - USA Track & Field on Friday reported Austin is among four cities that have declared intent to submit bids to host the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Marathon.

The other cities are Atlanta, Georgia; Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Orlando, Florida.

The trials for the women’s and men’s marathon will take place on the same day, showcasing the county’s top runners, the report states.

Final bids for the trials are due on March 19. Following review and assessment, the final selection will be made in the spring. The decision is subject to approval by the United States Olympic Committee.

The 2020 Summer Olympics will take place in Tokyo, Japan.
