ALBANY, N.Y. -- Marc Molinaro, the Republican challenging Gov. Andrew Cuomo, says term limits are one of his top priorities and that he would serve only two four-year terms if elected.

The Dutchess County Executive, speaking in Albany, said he'd also seek to institute term limits for statewide elected officials and legislators.

"This state government has allowed for the consolidation of power around too few people, and this governor has consumed too much of it," Molinaro said, "and it is necessary for us to establish term limts and to ensure that this state government have turnover so that the public remains in charge and the people remain in charge."

Cuomo, a Democrat, has also come out in favor of term limits for his and other statewide offices, as well as the Assembly and state Senate, but the bill he's introduced has gained zero traction in the legislature.
