The 19th Congressional district covers all or part of 11 counties, stretching from the Capital Region through the Hudson Valley and into the Southern Tier. It's currently represented by Chris Gibson, a Republican from Kinderhook. But he is not running for re-election. Both major parties have primaries in the race to replace him.
