A big day for students at Siena College's computer science program, as they got to show off their custom built robots.

The five bots that debuted at the College's annual RoboShow were coded from scratch. Each one was designed for a very specific function; from responding to simple commands to delivering cheese.

A professor helping to lead the bot-building program called it an example of how higher education should work.

"Students team up, brainstorm, have a brilliant idea, and then implement it. At the same time, they become confident," said Assistant Professor of Computer Science Ting Liu.

Also being shown off Monday was a robot that can play soccer, and another that could dance.

At the end of the show, guests voted on their favorite bot of the day.
