Albany Police are investigating an attempted abduction that happened Tuesday night on Robin Street.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Sheridan after a report that a man tried to force a teen into his vehicle. The 16-year-old told officers she was walking on Central Ave., when a man approached her and tried to talk with her.

When she walked away from him she says the man grabbed her wrist and pulled her toward his SUV. She said she was able to break free and get help.

"Let me be clear, this girl did exactly what she was supposed to do. She got away from this male and immediately notified police," said a member of the Albany Police Department.

The suspect is described as a man in his twenties, last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to contact albany police detectives.
