It’s no surprise to see art lining the walls of Create Community Studios, but what's special about some of these pieces are the people behind the paint brush: they're made by veterans.

The art show is put on by a program called Art 4 Vets, which aims to give veterans a place to express themselves and build a community after their service.

U.S. Army veteran Maryanna Donato says it’s a great time to reflect.

"I use art a lot as therapy to relax and meditate over the years I was in the service and now that I’m not, it relaxes me and makes me feel like I’m accomplishing something new in this era of my life,” she said.

The group doesn't just do art — they also kayak, do equestrian therapy and yoga together.
