A Monday vigil on the University at Albany main campus, honored the 11 victims of the Pittsburgh shooting.

There was a crowd of students and staff in attendance, as a prayer was sung and candles lit for each of those victims.

School officials and faith leaders spoke in mourning and ensured solidarity with the Jewish community.

The rabbi with UAlbany's Jewish student center said the togetherness came as a great reassurance.

"I think for every hater there are many more friends and it's very heartening and encouraging. Many people have reached out to us, many people have showed support and comfort, of all denominations, of all cultures, of all backgrounds, and we really appreciate that," said Mendel Rubin, rabbi for the UAlbany Jewish Student Center.
