This October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Thousands filled Washington Park in Albany over the weekend to raise money for research.

The event was hosted by the American Cancer Society, making it their 23rd annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Survivors, their families, and even some four legged friends, all came together to support those affected by the disease.

The walk is a long standing tradition in Albany, and organizers say every year more and more people come out to show support.

"Even if you don't know someone directly, you might have a neighbor that is going through something you don't know about. The American Cancer Society is here to serve our neighbors right here in the Capital Region and beyond," said Chris Falzarano, senior manager of the American Cancer Society.
