Local businesses held fundraisers Thursday night to help the Schoharie limo crash victims' families.

Maggie's Cafe donated all the proceeds from their event to Brian Hough's family.

He and his father-in-law were the two pedestrians hit and killed in the parking lot.

More than $1,000 was raised for Hough's family.

"I think they concentrated a lot on the victims in the limo and they didn't concentrate too much on the two victims that were pedestrians. So I felt like I wanted to do it for them," said Maggie Smith, Maggie's Cafe owner.

Pig N' Whistle in Saratoga Springs also hosted a fundraiser Thursday night.

Tickets cost $50 for the paint and sip event, and half of the proceeds will go to the victims' families.

All of the money raised from sales of a specially-made signature cocktail and a silent auction will also benefit the charity.

A former classmate of one of the victims' brother, the restaurant's owner says the event is the least they can do to give back.

"I think it's very, very important when things like this happen in the community, that our community comes together and does anything they can just to help any family or anything like that who needs anything from us," said Jordan Bush, Pig N' Whistle on Broadway co-owner.
