ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — We had a few showers today that were mainly north of I-4. They drifted west toward the Gulf of Mexico. Otherwise, most of the region was dry and quiet.

  • Hot Friday
  • Wind shift Saturday
  • Cold front Sunday

Skies will go mostly clear into early Friday morning. Lows will be in the low to mid 70s for most areas, but some upper 60s in Citrus and Hernando counties.

Skies will be mostly sunny for Friday, with highs again in the low 90s.

There will be a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and most of them will again be north of I-4. They will move westward and head for the gulf late in the day.

Friday night will be warm but mostly clear, with lows in the low to mid 70s.

Saturday will be warm and muggy, but not quite as hot due to a shift in the winds. The breeze will come from the west off the cooler gulf waters, so that will keep our highs mainly in the upper 80s.

There will be a small chance of an isolated shower.

A front is on the way for Sunday that will finally drop our temperatures a bit. It will move through with only a few showers and some clouds, but it will bring lower humidity and highs in the mid 80s instead of the recent 90s.

The lows will be a lot more comfortable Sunday night, dropping into the 60s and 50s.

Monday will be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid 80s.
