It was a somber evening in Moravia as dozens lined up outside Wades Funeral Home to say goodbye to a husband, friend and professor.

Brian Hough died in a Schoharie limousine crash that killed 20 people. He and his father-in-law were the two pedestrians hit in the parking lot.

Hough was an assistant professor of geology at SUNY Oswego. He briefly taught at Wells College, where his wife currently teaches.

“It’s really reassuring because Wells is a tight knit community anyways so when something like this happens it shows us how close we really are,” said Tayler Nichols, one of Hough’s former students.

Hough began working at Oswego in 2016 as a visiting professor.
