One of the few remaining K-Mart stores in the area will soon be closing.

The company announced the big-box retailer at ViaPort Rotterdam will be one of many set to close by the end of the year.

This comes just a day after Sears, the parent company of K-Mart, filed for bankruptcy.

In total, the company says more than 142 Sears and K-Mart stores will soon be out of business. 

The ViaPort Rotterdam K-Mart has been operating since the 1980s — Its closure will leave just two local stores in Queensbury and Greenwich.
